The Business Management diploma program trains students in fundamental skills used in a variety of professional settings. Emphasis is placed on business operations, leadership skills, communication techniques, business planning, sales, project management and entrepreneurship. Students are exposed to concepts of teamwork, technology, and multiple approaches to problem solving.

According to Service Canada, job prospects will be good for business management professionals and specialized workers, such as: project managers, retail managers, administrative officers and human resources directors. Graduates of the Canadian Business College Business Management program can pursue careers in many professions, including project management, retail, human resource management, marketing, real estate, sales, small business and entrepreneurship, among others.

International trade

This course provides an overview of the importance of international business and trade in the global economy and explores the factors that influence success in international markets. Students will learn about the techniques and strategies associated with marketing, distribution, and effective international business management.

Human Resources

Most experts consider people (human resources) to be the most important asset of any organization. Managing an organization's staff is often the most challenging and complex task required of a manager.
The goal of the course is to teach the basic principles of strategic human resource management: how an organization acquires, rewards, motivates, utilizes and generally manages its people effectively. In addition to providing a basic legal and conceptual framework for managers, the course will introduce the student to practices and techniques for evaluating performance, structuring teams, training and mentoring people, and performing the wide range of a manager's tasks related to other people.
During this module, students will be exposed to and discuss current human resources practices and participate in exercises designed to improve critical skills.

Business Law

This course will introduce Canadian business law with an emphasis on legal issues relevant to accounting. This module will teach students how to understand and use the Canadian legal system to apply tort and professional liability law, and contract law. They will also acquire the ability to recognize and respond to specific commercial contracts (including sales, insurance and employment), negotiable instruments and collateral, and partnerships and corporations.

Students will be introduced to the basic functions of management, planning and decision making within an organization. Emphasis will also be placed on an appreciation of how motivation, teamwork, and diversity relate to overall organizational success. The student will enrich his business vocabulary and develop a better understanding of the external environment that affects any business organization.

The Business Plan course is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to research, develop, and write a business plan for the purpose of purchasing or starting a new business. This course will guide you through the steps to prepare an effective business plan. It will help you clearly express your unique selling position, research the viability of your proposed business, develop customer objectives, prepare a financial plan with a cash flow projection, and determine your initial advertising and promotion strategies.
